The challenge

To create an interactive tour of Tate Modern. Building upon and superseding the Webby nominated ‘Explore Tate Britain’.

The solution

‘Explore Tate Modern’

Design & Multimedia Studio created an advanced virtual tour of the gallery containing a vast amount of information where visitors can discover what's on display in a variety of ways.

Works on display at the gallery are presented on a floor-plan that indicates exactly where the work can be found. The content is updated dynamically so that it accurately represents currently displayed works and exhibitions.

The plan also includes photographs of non-art spaces so that visitors are able to get a feel for the gallery or identify meeting points more easily. Users are also to create and save their own personal virtual tour of the gallery.
